August 2006, South 7s Championship Wrap Up
Nashville ends 7's competition in 3rd (South). First match of the day had us facing St. Petersburg. The final was 6 or 7 tries (us) to nothing. Next match, Old White where we endured a serious lapse in judgment and some questionable time keeping by the ref as we allowed Old White to come back and score twice in the last minute of the match. The result relegated us to the second seeding from our pool (entering the semis).

Nashville faced Daytona in the semis. The home team played great and eliminated us from advancing. We never showed up for this match (still in funk from mental collapse vs. Old White). Would have, could have,

Nashville beats Ft.Lauderdale to take 3rd in our final match on the day. Daytona takes South Champ title after killing Old White 46-0 (their main Fijian roled his ankle in the first half). We ended the day with a 2-2 record.

In hindsight, we let ourselves down in the Old White game as we clearly dominated it until the last minute. We made hard work out of much of the day. Outside of the tourney result, the weekend was a blast.

I want to thank everyone involved (this summer) for the commitment. I want to thank Lyle for organizing the administration info and the additional support. Lyle got to play in a couple of matches as well. His day was finished when a Ft.Lauderdale player gave him a knee to the temple (opened up a good gash and left a huge lump) resulting in a trip to the hospital. Also, huge thanks to Bone for making the trip. Mark Kane will be representing us for the South in the ITT's. Congratulations Kano!

Nashville played on Saturday at 3 pm against the Atlanta Renegades to determine who would stay home for the CR3 cross over weekend. Sunday, at 1 pm, Nashville would meet Life for the third time this Spring, for all the marbles and the D1 South Championship. The NRFC dominated most of the day and held on to a victory, 28-12, to secure a third straight South Championship.

23 August 2004 - NRFC Makes Foray Into DI

The South Board of Directors spring meeting decided, inline with South Competitions rules that Charleston would be promoted from DIII, having been the south qualifier to Nationals the past 2 seasons, and that both Nashville and Boca would be promoted to DI, as they had both been south DII Qualifiers to nationals the past 2 seasons.
